Lemberger 2009

Residual Sugar: 0%
Alcohol: 12%
Bottle Size: 750ML

Tasting Notes
Try something new - a vinifera variety of Austrian origin. A brilliant color, aromas of black cherry, ripe plum and smokey oak bring forth a dry cherry-laced tannic taste with a silky succulent finish.

Food Pairings
Enjoy with rack of lamb, smoked salmon or Prime Rib!

Lemberger is officially classified under the name “Blauer Limberger,” this red grape variety also goes by the synonyms “Lemberger” and “Blaufränkisch.” The late-ripening Lemberger probably originated in vineyards on the lower stretches of the Danube River. The grape was documented in Austria in the second half of the 18th century and is cultivated there to this day (as Blaufränkisch) in Burgenland and near Vienna.
