Pinot Gris (Grigio)

Originating in Burgundy, France, this “grey” Pinot Noir sport (almost indistinguishable from Pinot Noir except for its berry colour), is generally a high acid grape produces a pleasant aroma, crisp flavor and all around enjoyable wine. Medium to full bodied wines with aromas of pear, apple or melon with crisp acidity.

 

A little tougher to make for the beginning home wine maker, however it is considered a wine that can be bottled within 4–12 weeks after fermentation if desired. If done correctly, this is a variety that you will become 'addicted' to making.
